Pregnancy In The Military

The decision comes just two months after a commander in Iraq attempted to enforce a clause in his code of conduct that would have made getting pregnant while deployed there — or being responsible for getting a servicewoman pregnant — a punishable offense. Currently policy is that any woman who learns she is pregnant while in the war zone is immediately removed and sent back to the United States.

The commander argued that when a woman gets pregnant and has to leave, she places a burden on the rest of the troops. After much controversy regarding the policy, the rule was rescinded.

The pill has been controversial in the United States. Critics consider its availability a promotion of sex without consequences.

Wow! I am sort of lost for words. One part of me feels it’s okay for them to have it stocked but another part of me feels like it is completely wrong.  I mean, if these soldiers are so disciplined, why are they having sex while on duty in the first place?

they have this BIG problem with the gays in the military but yet it is okay for the women to get knocked up and take the “morning after” pill?

Does not make sense to me. Atleast the gays are going to get pregnant and put a “burden on the rest of the troops.

“Tokyo, Japan (CNN) — Toyota has added the brake systems of the latest Lexus hybrid vehicles to a growing list of problems with various models, the company said Friday. The company said it was checking the brakes on the Lexus vehicles — as well as a Japanese model called the Sai — because they use the same system as that used on the 2010 Toyota Prius. Toyota has announced no recall of these vehicles, however, and said it has not received any complaints about the brakes from consumers. “

Damn…it seems like the Toyota problem$ will never end….

SocialScope Addresses “People of Earth”

SocialScope has been around since early last year and they’ve been in private beta since then too.
I was fortunate enough to receive an invite only after about a week after I signed up. (Many people have been waiting weeks…some even months.
So far it is a great Twitter application for the Blackberry (but I too wish it would get an update). Its been the BEST Twitter app I have used so far on my ‘Berry.
And although many people are annoyed and been asking many questions, SocialScope has take to their new Tumblr page to address everyone’s questions and issues:

“People of Earth:
We’ve been getting a lot of questions about the SocialScope beta process and want to address them. First, no one should feel left out because they haven’t received an invite or are running a different version then someone else. As the beta progresses every one will be upgraded and more users will be added. Second, we’re always seeding new versions of the app to small groups of users to test, tune and tweak SocialScope. Keeping the test groups small allows us to work closely with these users; making changes that would otherwise drive you crazy and lead to overwhelming number of support emails for us. This is an iterative process that can take many versions until its ready for a wider group of users. Finally, we’ve tried to be as inclusive as possible leading to a very very large private beta. That means we can’t respond to every email or @reply (we wish we could, but we’re a small team), but your feedback is really valuable to us and we read every email we get. “How do you select users to seed versions to?” Its largely random, but sometimes based on device type and carrier if we’re trying to track down a specific issue. “How long will it take for me to get version x?” We can’t give you a date, but as soon as its ready you’ll get an upgrade notice within the app. “I haven’t even gotten an invite yet…” We’re constantly expanding the beta when a spot opens up or the app is released publicly we’ll let you know.

Poor GaGa

“Lady Gaga was forced to cancel her concert at Purdue University tonight due to a mystery illness … this according to school reps. We’re told Purdue EMTs showed up at the Elliott Hall of Music to attend to Gaga, but the singer’s people turned them away. School reps say Gaga simply boarded her tour bus and left campus. Both of Gaga’s opening acts performed before concertgoers were told she would not be coming on stage. The concert has already been rescheduled to January 26. “

Awww! I hope she’s okay.
But like a true woman with class she rescheduled the concert.
